EMH House is a single-floor apartment renovation located in Fenerbahçe, Istanbul. The project transforms an existing flat into a layered and composed living space shaped by nuanced transitions, custom detailing, and a balanced material palette. Spatial clarity and warmth were prioritized across all areas of the home, with attention given to how daily life unfolds throughout the plan.

Upon entering the apartment, a deep, custom-built wooden volume spans the entire front wall, creating a subtle threshold between the entrance and the living space. Its depth allows the chevron-patterned oak flooring to flow beneath it, forming a seamless architectural transition. The living room is arranged in three distinct zones: a dining area aligned with the entry axis, a media corner equipped for cinema viewing, and a more intimate fireplace lounge. Each is defined by function, yet connected through material continuity and spatial rhythm.

Material and color choices across the home evoke a sense of quiet refinement. In the guest WC, a bold burgundy tone introduces a contrasting spatial identity, while the child’s room remains purposefully neutral, offering a flexible backdrop for evolving needs. In the main bedroom, a single built-in unit integrates fabric-clad storage, a headboard, and a refined vanity desk. Lighting is used with precision to support the intended atmosphere in each zone. In the kitchen, traditional trim and hardware details soften the modern lines, reinforcing a sense of domestic warmth and balance.
